The Billable Ratio is the ratio of billable hours to non-billable hours. The Ratio is calculated for you.
There is a button on your Timesheet that displays a pie chart showing the ratio of your billable to non-billable time during the current month. You can change the timeframe by changing the filter.
There is a similar Billing Ratio button on the Project Time sheet. This ratio is calculated for ALL time records for the various time frames.
The billing ratio is a key indicator of an organization's productivity. The organization's billing rates and profitability are tied to the Billing Ratio.
On the Admin Page > Staff Details button brings up a table of staff members. You will find fields for "Paid Time Off Allowance" (hours) and "Billable Ratio Target" (decimal displays as percent). You can assign PTO and Billable Ratio by clicking on the table cells. The ‘view’ link opens a page for the individual showing their Billable Ratio for 6 timeframes. You can easily compare their BR to their Target Billable Ratio at the top of the page.
There is a Total Hours Breakdown to the side (or below depending on your monitor size).
Below those is a table of non-billable Project-Phases. You can see what non-billable time has been spent on, and compare PTO to the person’s PTO allowance at the top of the page.
On the individual’s Timesheet Page, when they click the Billable Ratio button, they will find their Labor Rate, PTO Allowance, and Target Billable Ratio if these have been established.
You can learn how to determine appropriate Billable Ratios here.
