Project Financial Status Reports

9/24/2019

Project Financial Status Reports give you the current financial status of each of your projects.

Determining the Project Financial Status is accomplished by allocating your overhead expenses based on the hours charged to your projects. You simply multiply the Overhead Factor times the individual’s hourly pay rate to get a ‘Charge Rate’. Then add this Charge Rate amount to the project expenses for each hour charged to the project.

MyCorbu does this for you every time you enter time. All you have to do is determine the Charge Rates to use. Here is the link to see how to do that.

When you have a significant change in your firm, re-calculate your Overhead Factor and update your Charge Rates. With your Charge Rates in place, MyCorbu provides a simple way to check your Project Financial Status.

On the Bookkeeping Page, the “Project Financial Status Reports” button opens a table of your projects showing the financial status of each project.
Project Reports
When you select the “Project Financial Status Reports” menu button on the Bookkeeping page, the Reports page opens displaying the Project Financial Status table. The table shows all ACTIVE, BILLABLE Projects. (You can change the Active status of Projects in the Project Table accessed from the Projects page.)

The table's columns are:
  • Project Name = the name you have given to the Project
  • Project Status = the sum of the other columns to the right, and roughly the current profit or loss (most accurate right after invoicing)
  • Project Income = the total of Income Transactions for the Project
  • Labor Charge = the total cost of labor 'charged' to the Project using the 'Charge Rates' assigned to each staff member
  • Project Expenses = the total of Expense Transactions for the Project (this may be positive due to a markup)
  • Reimbursable Expenses = the total of Reimbursable Expenses for the Project
  • Mileage = the total billed for mileage charged to the Project
  • Details = this link opens the records used in the other columns (next graphic)

The Details link displays a new page showing breakdowns of Time Charges, and all other Income and Expense Transactions.
