What Are Time Budgets Time Budgets are the number of hours that you allocate for the work of a Project-Phase. If you use a tool similar to FeeCalqs, then you will have an idea of how many hours each Project-Phase should require. Where Are Time Budgets Shown
Time Budgets are shown on the Project-Phase table that is located on the Projects page of the app. Access to the Projects page is limited to the Level 3 and the Admin User Roles. When Are Time Budgets Created Time Budgets can be created any time. When the Project-Phase is created is the easiest time to set the Time Budget for the Project-Phase, but the Project-Phase can be edited later to establish (or change) the Time Budget. Why Use Time Budgets The obvious use for Time Budgets is to see how a Project-Phase is doing financially. The same Project-Phase table that is located on the Projects page of the app shows the total hours spent on the Project-Phase at any time. This total of hours is shown as 'Hours JTD', which stands for 'Hours Job To Date'. Who Creates Time Budgets Time Budgets are created by Users with the User Role of Level 3 or Admin. How Do You Create a Time Budget If your User Role is Level 3 or Admin, then you go to the Projects page and add a Project-Phase by clicking the button named "Add Project-Phase". This will display a form to be completed. One of the boxes on the form is labeled "Phase Budget (Hours)". This is where you enter the Time Budget for the Project-Phase. By searching the Project-Phase table for the Project name, you will see all of the Phases of the Project and the total of all the Time Budgets for the Project as well as the total hours spent on the Project to date.
