Help for MyCorbu Architectural Bookkeeping
The BOOKS version of MyCorbu does not change anything about how time entries are made. Time is treated as an expense that is charged to Projects to create PROJECT Bookkeeping entries. Whether the project is billable or not does not matter. This is an explanation of how the charges are determined. Billable projects are charged for time at the Charge Rate that you determine. Non-billable projects are charged for time at the Labor Rate that you pay the staff member. See Rates for how to set the Charge Rate and the Labor Rate.
The impact of this arrangement is that billable projects are charged for their cost of labor plus their share of overhead expenses. Non-billable projects ARE overhead expenses, so they don’t have anything additional charged to them besides the cost of labor. The OFFICE Bookkeeping is completely separate from these PROJECT Bookkeeping entries. For OFFICE Bookkeeping the expense of time is addressed when you make payroll entries. Time entries are not directly responsible for PROJECT income. However, when an invoice is entered as an income transaction, the amount is assigned to the Project. All income entries are also counted as OFFICE income. The single entry appears in two calculations, one for PROJECT Bookkeeping and one for OFFICE Bookkeeping. Comments are closed.
